As we reflect on the life and legacy of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the echoes of his parting words resonate with a profound sense of humility, gratitude, and a deep connection to the transcendent. His departure from this realm was not a farewell but a passage into the unfathomable depths of Natural Law, a journey into the very essence of existence.

In his poignant expression of gratitude during his farewell address, Maharishi revealed the essence of his life's work.

"Jai Guru Dev. I am grateful for this warm send-off of Invincibility to the whole world for all times,"

he began.

His acknowledgement of the guiding light of Guru Dev, his mentor, Guru Brahmananda Saraswati, set the stage for reflecting on the mystery and majesty of life's unfolding. Throughout his life, Maharishi was a conduit for a force beyond his comprehension.

"I was simply working. I did not know from where all the instruments are coming to give shape to the world,"

he humbly admitted. His mission to bring about peace, happiness, prosperity, and freedom from suffering was not a personal endeavour but a cosmic dance orchestrated by the unfathomable field of Natural Law.

"The depth of Vedic Wisdom for life is so enormous that it is completely self-sufficient in articulating everything,"

Maharishi asserted.

The Vedic wisdom he shared, mainly through the practice of Transcendental Meditation, became a beacon for individuals seeking a deeper connection with the self and the universe. It was an invitation to explore the boundless realms of consciousness, transcending the limitations of ordinary thought. As he contemplated the source of his actions, Maharishi delved into the Vedic saying,

"Na Guror adhikam, na Guror adhikam, na Guror adhikam."

There is nothing more significant than Guru Dev, the expression went.

This reverence for the spiritual teacher encapsulated Maharishi's philosophy—recognising that the trustworthy source of wisdom and action lies in the eternal, transcendent reality beyond the grasp of ordinary intellect.

In his pursuit of understanding, Maharishi touched upon the essence of Jyotish Vidya—the Vedic science of light- symbolising the unbounded energy and all-knowingness at the core of existence. In his words, Jyotish was the source of unbounded energy, the secret of all secrets. Yet, this source was not something to be dissected or confined to a specific location; it was omnipresent, the very fabric of the universe.

"The source is everywhere. That is Vedic Civilization,"

Maharishi proclaimed.

His teachings aimed to awaken individuals to the interconnectedness of all life and the omnipresence of the transcendent. Through practices like transcendental meditation, he guided seekers to tap into the silent administrator of the universe—silence itself, the script of natural law eternally guiding everyone's destiny.

Maharishi's reflections painted a picture of Yoga, Jyotish, devotion, and knowledge as interconnected threads in the vast tapestry of existence. Yet, he emphasised the unfathomable nature of this tapestry, a canvas painted from the wellspring of Totality. In his departure, Maharishi left a legacy of authority in silence—a reminder that in the stillness of meditation, one can commune with the eternal and access the script of Natural Law. Throughout his life, Maharishi was committed to bridging the gap between ancient spiritual wisdom and modern scientific understanding. Under his guidance, numerous research studies were conducted to explore Transcendental Meditation's physiological and psychological benefits. The findings supported the positive impact of the practice on reducing stress, improving cognitive function, and promoting overall well-being.

As we remember Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on the anniversary of his passing, let us delve into the beauty of his philosophical musings. He beckons us to explore the uncharted territories of our consciousness, recognise the interconnectedness of all life, and embrace the silence that holds the script of our shared destiny. In Maharishi's teachings, we find an invitation to embark on a journey into the unfathomable—to discover, like him, that the source of all existence is not a destination to be reached but a journey to be experienced with awe and reverence.
